GILDING<\/h2>

Gold, symbol of light, power, divine, immortality, has fascinated all civilizations since time immemorial.\u2028Its ductility, durability, high resistance and colour, make it “the most perfect and most noble metal”.\u2028Raw material of excellence, gold is used in various fields of handicrafts. Orhus workshop practice the art of gilding since 30 years old by participing in many private and public restorations of gilding works, on such varied and various media such as furniture, seatings, frames, mirrors, ironworks, statuary, art sacred…on sites ( Paris, Province, foreign countries ) or in the workshop for transportable pieces. By application of noble metals leaves ( gold, silver, platinum, palladium…) according different processes such as “water gilding”, “mixtion gilding”, we put into value objects of art, liturgical, use…to magnify their beauty.<\/p>\n

Leaves thinness put into light, notably on gilded wood, all the work done above of primers and “reparure” ( the art of carving in the “whites” ). This handcraft requires several features such as the sense of observation, methodology, the mastery of ornement drawing, patience…<\/p>\n

Orhus workshop is concerned with preserving an ancestral know-how by perpetuating traditional techniques in respect of the authenticity of the old objet and its history.
\nOrhus workshop also participates in contemporary work as well for interiors and exteriors, artists works, private and personal creations.
